Networked behaviors associated with a large-scale secure messaging network: Cross-sectional secondary data analysis
Secure messaging has become a preferred mode of asynchronous clinician communication, creating large-scale networks that can be analyzed to understand how interaction structures relate to messaging behaviors. Using EHR-integrated secure messaging data from a large Midwestern health system (14 inpatient and 282 outpatient locations over six months), this study characterizes a large-scale secure messaging network and its association with healthcare professionals’ messaging behaviors.
